WTF!?

First, we posted a trailer for our Lost Liberty parody "Rebel Pool Party"

Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZettOYyO_E

As you read this, I am editing what footage I have for a little action scene to throw at you called "E.Z" which should be out in maybe a week or so.

Now the reason why this post is titled WTF!? is because I downloaded the song "Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of the War Drums" recently. Awesome song, if you haven't heard it, you ought to go and listen to it. It has a bunch of rock and concert percussion instruments and a deep electric undertone throughout. Just now though I watched the music video that Emotive made for the song and it was a huge letdown.

It's a pretty cheap cartoon showing I think George Bush Sr. and how the republicans see the American people as just sheep with numbers and that kind of stuff. Interesting message they're trying to convey but the delivery was terrible. Hardly any shot or action lined up with the song's tempo, and with a song with a strong pulse like that should have solid shots to line up to. But the cartoon was mediocre and the mood of that song just seemed so out of place.

My solution? Since Episodes 4 and 5 of Lost Liberty are taking so long to organize and film, I've decided to make a trailer for those two (kind of like a season trailer for an actual series even though this is a mini series). The trailer will mainly feature a new soldier class for the rebels that will be introduced in 4 and 5 called the Vanguards. The Vanguards have special training and wear all black instead of woodland camo pants and also wear a black skirt from the waist down (go look at some special Clone Troopers from Star Wars to see what I mean). They are the Delta Force/SAS/Spetznaz equivalent to the rebels and are a tough match against the US forces.

So we will begin filming clips for that after school as much as possible so stay tuned for E.Z. and the 4 and 5 Vanguard trailer.

Peace,
Indy.

We're not dead yet.

Wutsup. Yeah, thought I'd post. I've got friends now forcing me to so yeah.

Quick update here, we filmed a short independent action scene about a commando team that get have to fight for their lives. The footage looks really cool so this should be a fun one. Give me a couple weeks maybe and this should be up with effects and all. Also Keenan typed up a possible trailer for a Lost Liberty parody called "Rebel Pool Party"...yeah. So stay tuned for that, it's going to be hilarious.

Stuff

Yo,

So days when I'm REALLY bored and don't have really any Lost Liberty stuff to do (or if I whip out my good ol' procrastination skills), I started making video game stuff. I'm teaming with two other guys in the clan (TacOps) that I'm in and we started busting out some gameplay stuff on Battlefield: Bad Company 2. So far there is a little teaser video for something we're working on, and one of the guys, Bluehay, posted a really nice montage with the song TNT under it.

Here's the link to the new YouTube page we made for it: http://www.youtube.com/user/TheTacOpsClan

So subscribe and keep in touch with our gamer side.

Update: Lost Liberty Ep4

And it only took me two months to make another post! Man, I gotta get on here more. Well a few weeks ago we had our first film shoot for Lost Liberty Episode 4 so production is underway. I've been writing a bunch of other small stuff to keep my brain active so God knows which ones I'll actually film or not but just stay tuned.

If you may have noticed, Episode 1 has been taken down only because I'm re-uploading it with special effects so it will be back up shortly. Also I've started writing a new movie. It has no title yet but it will be a movie that I'm expecting to be about 30 minutes long so this will be, by far, our biggest movie.

It will take place sometime in the future. Mexico has become the next Africa. Many groups of people from different countries have colonized different areas. They start a war by banding together and pushing their military expansion onto US soil (in that time it will be just North America since all of the states have united and Canada has joined the union). The big thing about it is we will use Nerf dart guns as the weaponry in it. I'm buying a ton of them, taking them apart, and re-painting them so they look like real firearms.

So be ready for that stuff,
Indy.

Update

I think I'm overdue for a post don't you think? I know, I REALLY should post this more often. Anyways, update? Well Episode 4 is still in the writing process because of my enormous procrastination skills but there are a bunch of scenes that we can shoot right now, just need the right time.
Also special effects for Episode 1 are done since there wasn't much to do regarding that so I will re-post that then an audio commentary immediately after so stay tuned for that. I might also do another music video if I feel like it/have the time. But for now, very slow progress for Lost Liberty EP: 4. Other things will be on the way though so don't assume we're inactive.

Thanks,
Indy.

Episode 3 Is Going Up

Well Episode 3 was up for a short time but when it was uploading to YouTube, it somehow had a sound split that was off from the video by about a secong and a half...count that, that's a HUGE split. So I took it down.

I will go up again tomorrow afternoon so stay tuned 'till then. What I will probably focus on next is trying to kick off an Marines short because I've been wanted to do a few skits for a while. Plus I have an idea for a little comedy short video that rips off a bunch of TV shows like That 70s Show, King of the Hill, South Park, and Whose Line Is It Anyway?.

Don't worry, I have already got the first half of the script for Episode 4 completed and I hope we don't take six months to get it done but at any rate, I will have more things up soon.

Thanks, Indy.

P.S. I will also post audio commentarys of Episodes 1 - 3 which are already done and I will begin a short little tutorial called "How To Make An Action Movie" now that I have some work to back up my advice. (And YES it is inspired off of "DigitalPh33r's Guide To Making Halo 3 Machinima" but it will take a totally different path of it's own...because it's not machinima)

Update

Okay here's what going on for you people who still visit this site (and thank you).

First off, I'm sorry that I have not update this thing since October I think, I just havn't had time, or just didn't update this thing when I got online. I hope to try and keep posting this more often to keep you guys interested and know what's going on with our production.

Which leads me to this: I'm sure your all STILL wondering when Episode 3 of Lost Liberty is going to be out. Well hopefully before New Years but there will be a price that I'll have to pay. We still need about 8 or so shots to finish it and it's about half-way edited and we should be able to get that done before Christmas. I will edit it to my full capabilities like my previous ones, and that means there will not be any special effects immediately. I will put effects to Episodes 2 and 3 after 3 is posted because it can be a pretty long and laborious job sometimes and I don't want to make you guys wait anymore.

Now let me explain why it has taken so long. Episode 3 has been very demanding because the entire episode is a constant battle scene which requires some very complex shots that require a bunch of people. It's harder than it sounds to organize a shoot with 7 or 8 people who are willing to sacrifice their entire weekend to shoot this. We've done this three times now...

I extend a special thanks to you guys who have been able to make it to these shoots and to yall's parents for allowing them to do this because it really means a lot!

Remember back when Episodes 1 and 2 were released? Well that took a little over a month to get those two out because it was a little simpler to shoot and organize. Hopefully, when Episode 3 is out, it should go back to the faster pace that we used to have. The hardest thing is shooting these because once all of that is done, editing is done very fast because I've been editing videos for over 7 years now.

So hang in there and Episode 3 should be out in the next week or so.

Hope everybody has a Merry Christmas,
Indy.

Episode 3 shoot

We will hopefully have our last shoot weekend for Episode 3 and FINALLY get it finished up and posted. Stay tuned also for a re-post of Episode 2 with full special effects as well. Also if you haven't already noticed, I put a new picture on the top of the page whenever I update something.

Update

Scene 2 for Lost Liberty Ep. 3 has been shot and editing is underway. I have written the teaser trailer plus a bunch of shorts for Marines. I've decided to begin Marines because of the slow progress of each Lost Liberty Episode. Marines requires very few actors in the skits so they will be quick and worth it hopefully.

Also take a look at this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXxicabaWp8
This is the Wimberley High Spirit of Texas Marching Band. Most of the actors (including myself) in Lost Liberty is in the band. The only people I can pick out is at 00:35 I am on the 45 yd line and Robert (Sgt. Hill) is on the 50 yd line and is also the trumpet soloist at the end.

Hope you enjoy!
Indy.

Episode 3 Shoot

Well the shoot weekend for Episode 3 went great. We got a lot shot but not everything. We got the first scene done and I will post a very short teaser (about 10 seconds long) of the episode to give you guys something new to watch. Full effects will be added as well.

Stay tuned, Indy.

Episode 3 Update

Shoot day has been finalized and it looks like it is a go for just about everybody. Yes I know, it should have been a few weeks ago but everybody has been busy over the summer but I think I've found a date that works. Also, EffectsLab Pro came in the mail a few weeks ago so now we have special effects like muzzle flashes, blood, etc. which is what Episode 2 lacked.

Right now I'm working on putting some special effects in the battle scenes in Episode 2 and I will post them on YouTube so you all can see what we are now capable of.

So yeah, the shoot for Episode 3 will be in about two weeks.

So stay with us, Indy.

Update on Lost Liberty

Hey, sorry for the lack of updates. I'd see the blog on my favorites and think "I'll post later." lol.

Okay here's the plan for shooting future episodes: School will be out on Friday (THANK GOD!!!!) and most of us will be pretty busy in June, plus my birthday is this Saturday, the 30th (FREAK YEAH!!!). Speaking of which, I'm working on a little treat for my birthday, a little birthday thing from me to yall. It's a compilation of all of my favorite video games with "Ladies and Gentlemen" playing. The music video will be uploaded on May 30th (my birthday) for you guys, you'll get a kick out of it.

As for Lost Liberty, I am planning on a double shoot on the last weekend of June to shoot Episode 3. We will spend most of the summer shooting more than editing so I can take advantage of everybody's summer free time before school starts back up again. When it does, I will edit more. That doesn't mean that you guys wont get any Lost Liberty over the summer. They will just come out slowly versus when school starts and I will be crankin' 'em out!

So that's it for now.

Oh one last thing. I am trying to come up with an idea for a one-hit-wonder for Indypendent Studios. Something that should have no squeal or series to it, but to use with no copy written material and to enter in contests. I really need to start getting into that so I can personally say "I am an award winning filmmaker." Plus it would go GREAT on a resume to collage or something. So if you have any ideas, shoot me an email! Even if you think it's stupid...I may be, but you never know.

So stay with us, I'll post some BTS and various projects I am working on.

Indy.

Episode 2 Posted

Finally it's been completed and uploaded.

View here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pT5ewesrMQ4

As for Episode 3, I will spend most of the time in May writing because most of us (including me) have a lot of stuff going on so I will be writing Episode 3, 4, and possibly 5. Then as soon as school is out, we will begin shooting. If you likes the battle in Episode 2, get ready for 3 because the entire episode will be a huge battle scene from start to finish.

So yeah, Indy.

My Apologise

Hey guys. I'd like to apologize for the very long delay of Episode 2 of "Lost Liberty." It took us a while to find dates to shoot this. Yes I said dates. It took us three shoots to get Episode 2 shot. The prologue for Episode 2 should be out...tonight! :D

Now due to this episode taking so long to get out (2 1/2 months to be precise) I have realized that making these well done, plus special effects, are going to take longer than I thought. I thought I could get one episode out per month but I see that it will take longer if I take my time and make every detail count. Now Episode 2 had some delays because of extra curricular activities, and shooting at two locations that were about 4 miles away from each other. Episode 3 will be shot in only one location and should be a little easier.

Furthermore, episodes of "Lost Liberty" will not be posted as frequent as the hit YouTube show "Aftermath", those of you who followed that series for some time are aware of how long it took for Episode 9 to be posted. Expect the same thing for "Lost Liberty."

That said, it doesn't mean you wont hear from us at all besides this blog. We shoot video diarys of each shoot day (big shoot days where my friends/actors sleep over the day before) and edit bloopers from each shoot. We will post those during the wait between each episode. I still need to upload the video diary we did for Episode 2 and I will put that together. It should be a lot of fun to watch and see what we're up to.

One last thing, some of you have had this on your mind the whole time reading this, "When is Episode 2 actualy going to be out!?" Bad news first, I am having issues moving the footage from one computer to another but it's not a big issue. And also the length of the episode may be a little dissapointing. I am estimating that it will be about 7 or 8 minutes long but it WILL be worth it. But, all footage for Episode 2 have been shot and all that is left is editing the final stuff. You will meet the main characters of the series and will lead into a battle scene.

Be patient everyone, it's almost here! Indy.

Episode 2 Update

One delay after another, havn't got our last stuff shot yet so I will throw out some bloopers and video logs.

Stay tuned, Indy.

Lost Liberty Episode 2 Update

We had our second shoot day last weekend and got a lot shot but unfortunately.........wait for it........not all of it. Before you guys start sending me hate mail because of our slow progress, we got all the shots we need for the prologue for Episode 2 so that will be out soon to tie you over. If it still takes a while, I will post some video diarys were doing as a log and some bloopers.

So hang in there, Indy.

Lost Liberty Episode 2 Update

Well last weekend was our shoot day for Episode 2: Civil War. It went great with most of our actors showing up. We got most of it done but unfortunately not all of it. We are going to have a very short 3 hour shoot in a little bit to finish it. I will go ahead and begin editing so when we get the last of it done it will be published shortly after.

Give it two weeks or so and Episode 2 will be up.

So stay tuned, Indy.

Lost Liberty Update

We're having a major schedule planning issue right now. Trying to find a good weekend to get everybody together to shoot Episode 2. Episode 1 we were a little layed back on. Since there were no main roles besides myself playing Carter Stone, and the sniper whom two of our actors had the identical ghillie suit.

But for Episode 2, planning is much harder because we have our main characters in it and I am also trying to plan a tactics training for my actors so we can tidy up our movements before we get on camera, even I need some help. So our shoot will be sometime in mid February so stay tuned.

Thanks, Indy.
